I was born in a small fishing village on Cape Cod into a family of artists. My mother was a potter who taught for Northeastern University in Boston. She also was president of the Plymouth Potters' Guild and some of my earliest memories were of great potting parties with all the guild members in my mothers' studio.
My father was head of the city water department and did all the drafting for the city's water systems. In his spare time he was a carver. Aunts, uncles and siblings were all to be found with pen, paintbrush or knife in hand. Needless to say my art education was home schooled. These days I paint, carve, draw, build furniture and make jewelry. In 2002, I decided to follow in my mother's footsteps and dipped my hands into the clay. To my surprise, I found that I have my mother's talent and have been potting ever since.
I presently reside in Midtown Memphis with my husband Steve and our two dogs Uncle Rupert and Isabel. My studio is located behind our home on Evelyn Avenue where I can be found most days potting, painting or making jewelry.
I am currently showing my wares at the White Gardenia at 820 South Cooper, Memphis, and the Artists on Central Gallery at 2256 Central, Memphis. I can also be seen at many of the local arts and crafts fairs such as the Pink Palace, Arts in the Park and more.
